Gallery Mugen is honored to present the work of Ken Matsuzaki, one of the most important master potters working in Japan today, and Akira Satake in a special online exhibition in conjunction with CONVERGENCE -- a live, three day workshop featuring the two ceramic artists demonstrating and discussing their work, creative journeys, and personal creative philosophies.

Attendance for the virtual workshop has already been filled, but the CONVERGENCE Exhibition will go live Monday, July 20th at 10am EST US.

This is a rare opportunity to view extraordinary recent work by two internationally recognized Japanese potters together in one exhibition. We look forward to having you join us!

Annual holiday party at Gallery Mugen - Akira Satake Ceramics and Cafe Yuzu

We will feature new work from Akira and festive Cafe Yuzu  sweets to sample and purchase. Here's a taste of what to expect:

Akira is cooking some Japanese dishes! Enough said!

Fukubukuro, or "Good Fortune Bags." Fukubukuro is a holiday tradition in Japan -- stores offer shopping bags with undisclosed contents for sale, customers take their chances as to what "good fortune" they will discover within. Mugen will offer mystery bags which include selected ceramic works by Akira and treats from Yuzu Patisserie.  Only five will be available. First come, first served!

1:00 pm  Akira will conduct a tea tasting, featuring a tea flight of his personal recommendations. You're invited to sample varieties and flavors you've never tried before and perhaps discover a new favorite.  Dobra Tea teas will be featured.

2:00 pm  In house mini concert featuring Akira on banjo and shamisen with special guest, Anya Hinkle (Tellico, Dehlia Low).

Come on down and help us celebrate  -- we look forward to seeing you on the 16th!
