Makers by David Pierce

'Makers' is born from the idea that the folks who make the very pots, plates, chairs, art, etc. you use on a daily basis, are people who have stories, connections, and relationship to their work. Akira Satake is a ceramicist based out of Asheville, North Carolina who has dedicated his life to finding the balance between clay, fire, and himself. The question of where to let nature do it's work and where to have human intervention is at the core of who Akira is as a maker.
